ESSENTIALSKILLS FOR EXPERIENCED AUDITORS - Training

6th - 7th August 2013 in Holiday Inn, Suva

Presenter - Donald Espersen (CIA, CRMA), Director Despersen & Associates, USA

One component of the IIA’s most recent Global Internal Audit Survey (CBOK) covered Core Competencies for Today’s Internal Auditor. The three top competencies identified by CAE’s, internal audit staff members and managers were “problem identification and solution skills” (including core, conceptual and analytical think). This core competency can also require additional competencies including: profession judgment and critical thinking skills, a solid understanding of how to apply risk analysis and control assessment techniques, and conflict resolution or negotiation skills.

Explore the essential skills that Internal Auditors need to have in order to effectively carry out their responsibilities. Including:

•             Profession judgment and critical thinking skills,

•             Risk analysis and control assessment techniques,

•             Problem identification and solution skills (including conceptual and analytical think)  and

•             Conflict resolution or negotiation skills

Examine risk analysis and control assessment techniques that can be used to identify emerging risks and reduce control burden

Practice applying the essential skills on “real world” internal audit activities and an ongoing audit project case study

Identify opportunities – and develop action plans – go beyond the basics and improve your essential skills.

This will be a highly interactive session with several small group breakouts. To promote discussion and active participation – the maximum attendance has been capped at 30.

To register, email PrettyP@fnpf.com.fj. Registration will be on first come first serve basis so hurry to avoid disappointment.
