CIA Challenge Exam Updates
Effective 1 June 2026, the CIA Challenge Exams will be updated to align with the new Global Internal Audit Standards™. We will begin accepting applications on 1 April 2026.
The Challenge Exam is currently aligned with the 2017 International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. This version of the exam will be available until 28 February 2026. Through 31 January 2026 The IIA is offering a 20% discount on exam retakes.
Effective 1 February 2026, The IIA is updating its exam scoring process for CIA Challenge Exams. Candidates will receive a single, official exam result within three weeks of the exam date. Once candidates exam results are available, they receive a system-generated email notification.
Pricing is applicable in the United States, Canada, and select countries throughout the world. Pricing may differ in countries where exams are administered through agreements with National Institutes.
Applicable taxes may be collected in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Candidates residing in the United Kingdom/Republic of Ireland or South Africa must be IIA members to apply for the CIA, CRMA, IAP, and CIA Challenge Exam.
