Hi,

In my last attempt to pass CIA part 3 I have scored 570 points. I failed. The passing score is 600 points.
Is my understanding correct that I scored 71%? 600 points is 75%.

Thanks.

I don't think your understanding is 100% accurate but this converted percent can be a good gauge. Based on the exceprt below, you could say that you performed at a level equal to answering 71% of the answers correctly on an exam that the Board of Regents deems appropriate. But if your exam would be deemed more difficult, your actual percentage could have been lower than 71% but still resulted in 570. Just the oppsoite would be true on an exam that's deemed less difficult...

"A scaled score of 600 points or higher is required to pass the CIA exam. A candidate would need to answer 75% of the questions correctly on an exam with a difficulty equal to what the Board of Regents deems appropriate. However, if an exam is found to be more difficult than the norm, a candidate may only need to answer 70% of the questions correctly to achieve 600 points." (Gleim)

don't feel bad. I just failed Part 3 for the third time another 582. (old Part 3)

This exam is a joke. I can't wait to take the new Part 3 and pass.

This time is was complex cost accounting questions and new IT which had new concepts. I could probably pass the bar before this crud.

Good luck, I am starting my new Part 3 early next year. yes, you are close, probably 70 or 71%...

If 600 is 75%, then 570 would be 70% mathematically. What can you recommend study wise, based on your experience from taking the new Part 3 exam? Did you have enough time to complete? Was IT or Accounting still a big part of the exam? How were the Governance/Risk Management questions? Were there a lot of Leadership/Management questions? Any study or exam tips would be appreciated, thanks!
