The CFE Prep Course training materials seem to be a little on the expensive side ($700 or more) and are not transferable to others from what I understand. Does anyone have a used "Fraud Examiner's Manual" or "Corporate Fraud Handbook" for sale or know where I could obtain a used copy. Thanks. coboyd
I would strongly recommend your buying the CFE Prep course as it takes less time in preparing for the exam and most of the exam questions directly come from it. I studied a little over a month for the exam and passed the first time. I was a bit hesitant to purchase the prep course as I thought it was too expensive given the exchange in my country but I saw that it would cause less study time if I purchased it and so I did. If you want to take more time in preparing for the exam while going for cheaper cost to prepare for the exam, then the Handbook and Manual is the way to go. The choice is up to you though given your circumstances.
An alternative approach to reduce the cost of the prep course is to get another person to share the cost of the material. ACFE allows the prep course to be installed on two computers at the same time. Therefore, this is close as you can get to transferability.

House, what year is your copy from? If the thread starter does not take you up on your offer I certainly will. I just purchased the prep kit but am not good at extended reading on the computer (they send the fraud examiner's manual only on cd for the package I purchased). I would like to get a hard copy of the material. I would gladly pay shipping. Let me know if Coboy does not want it!

I am interested in everything except the CFE materials as I already have those. I am graduating with an accounting undergraduate degree in two weeks and beginning my Masters of Accounting this summer. I will be taking the CFE exam and CIA exam this spring and am trying to gather as many resources as possible to fully prepare myself. I have purchased the prep course directly from the ACFE as well as Gleim CIA exam prep part 1 (book and cd). I am particularly interested in Learn CIA online... Thanks!

If you were a student somehow you can get the material for $300. if you have someone who shares it with you then man your lucky. Just because you can install it in 2 computers doesnt mean that you can't install it in a third computer. How about if ur laptop gets stolen and your other computer is a home desktop? you buy another laptop and install it---3rd computer.

Do you still have the 2008 Test Prep CD? Does that CD contain MCQ's like the Gliem Software. If you can send me the cd, that would be great. I have the 2007 CFE manual in soft copy form already.

I am rounding up with the CIA in January and want to do the CFE immediately after that. Could you please send me a pdf copy of the fraud examiners manual so that i will be able to evaluate if i need to purchase the prep software or not.

The CFE Examiners Manual and Corporate Fraud Examiners Guide are both copyrighted products. Distributing and receiving copywrited products illegally is an ethics violation for both the ACFE and IIA. If you want these materials you need to purchase them. It is highly unethical to offer to distribute them or ask to receive them on an IIA message board.
