Major make over as the text for each chapter has been reduced significantly. I am planning to take the exam on June 9th and wondering if it's a good idea to go with 16th or stick to 15th ver. (with more text content). This is my second attempt so really really want to pass this time.
I failed part 1 twice this year.....it is quite frustrating and I feel like I am just not intelligent enough for this exam, I don't know......I am a holder of a Masters degree in Accounting (from a fairly decent University) and a CPA but somehow I am unable to pass the easiest part of the CIA exam.
First time I scored 530, second time I scored 580..... I will attempt one last time and then come to terms with the fact that I am not intelligent enough to be a certified internal auditor......
Maybe I am not possessing the reasoning skills needed for this type of exam and am accustomed more to the CPA, university/masters form of testing.
I have invested over 100 hours in total studying for the exam those two times and have memorized (after reading it so many times) all of the concepts but that is not enough apparently..... I am a staff auditor with 4 years of experience and yet I am unable to answer many of the questions on the exam successfully, whether it is due to convoluted wording used or picking successfully between two very similar answers.
I have used Gleim 15 & 16th edition in preparation for the exam, the book, online review and the test bank software.
Each time I have prepared for two months using the Gleim recommended approach (sent by the personal counselor)
I am really sorry to hear about your results. Many of colleagues have said that part 1 is not easy and they didn't clear it on their 1st attempt. Your scope of 580 is very close to passing so just try to stay positive and you will definitely pass. Actually, I am re-taking the part 1 on June 9th ...really nervous but studying hard.
Good luck and take care
Those who have cleared the part 1..pls pls post some positive feedback and also last days studying tips..thank you in advance.
