I cleared my part 1 today and now over to the next 3 battles! For my Part 1 i used Gliem book and software Edition 13. My questions are as follows:
1. Is it advisable to take Part 3 before Part 2? I have read a lot of people prefer doing part 3 before part 2.. Any suggestions? 2. Would Gliem book and software Edition 13 suffice for Part 2,3 and 4?
I took Part 1 in September, Part 2 in February and completed Part 4 in May. My thinking was to do the hardest part last to keep my motivation going. I found Part 4 to be extremely dull and hard to concentrate because none of it is audit related material.
With the upcoming exam restructuring, I would recommend taking Part 4 last, as if you pass only Part 4 (without Part 3), you will have wasted exam fee for Part 4 if you don't pass Part 3 by the time the new format is introduced.
Regarding Part 3 before Part 2, I have also read that, as there appear to be some concepts in Part 2 exam that are covered in Part 3 preparation materials.
Perhaps do a quick read-through of Part 3 before taking Part 2.
I agree with MuneebBhai, taking 1 and 2 back to back is the way to go becuase of the overlapping sections (standards/ethics/fraud) . The same thing goes with taking 2 and 3 back to back (IT and finance overlap). Hope this helps
