I am planning to take the part 1 portion in December and i am currently using the Gleim 12th edition book. Please advise if this book is good enough to pass the exam or do i need an updated version. Also, do i need the software with the book?

Hi nick,
I used the 12th edition, supplemented with the latest CD and on-line material from Gleim and passed.

Good luck!

Ps
Personally the various editions are not that different and the selling is more a marketing tool than anything else....

Thanks for the reply Gandalf59. When u say that you used the latest CD and software, can you be more specific. I have read other forums stating that they have used some sotware/CD that has about 900 practice questions. Is that what you have been using?. The only CD i have is the IIA model exam questions 2004

hi Nick,

Happy to...
I used the 14th edition of Gleims CIA.part 1 test preparation software(on CD) - can also be downloaded - but equally as helpful was
gleims online part 1, 16th edition which consists of True/False question, combined with MC questions. Don't let yourself be sucked in with Gleims marketing spin. I thought that the various book editions did not look that different and - having the latest online tools at hand - provides sufficient assurance that you are not overlooking anything.

good luck!
