We are planning to launch blackjack tables at one of our racino locations and I will be executing a review of the procedures and controls surrounding the game. I am looking for any audit programs, suggested areas of review or issues fellow auditors have noted in their experience.
I use the MICS checklist as the basis for my blackjack audit. Our table games department is very well run. We have written procedures that cover opening and closing of tables, fills, drops, and statistical analysis. I review the procedures and observe the tables to see that they are being followed. I also observe the tables from surveillance occasionally to watch for dealer and/or player fraud, like capping bets or paying out false wins. I will pick a player or two using a player's club card and check the accuracy of the tracking report. We are a small operation so rules pertaining to tables with larger bet limits do not apply to us.
