I was involved in an SAP implementation a few years back. My company did not utilize our IA Dept. We hired a consulting firm to assist with the implementation, and also hired another consulting firm to perform an independent audit of the implementation. However, if your IA Dept is experienced in IT implementation auditing, they should get involved and perform this for your company. Whether it be a consulting firm or your IA Dept, they should be engauged early in the project, and not brought in toward the end, when there is little time to take any corrective action if issues are found. Hope this helps. coboyd
Actually our company used Internal audit department.
Infact our SAP implimentation gone live few days ago.
Being part of the SAP implimentation as an auditor, i completed the scope of certification designed by IIA for auditors to work in SAP environment. Actually auditor play a support role in implementation to provide assurance on verious decsions taken during implemantation at various implementation phases.
