Summer Success!
It’s summer! Just like the recent high school or college graduates, it’s our time for commencement. First, let me thank our outgoing chapter officers for your hard work and service to the profession over the previous chapter year. It is my hope that each of you will remain a strong contributor to your respective chapters, regardless of your chapter role in the upcoming year. And to the 2012 – 2013 chapter leaders, welcome! The chapter relations team at IIA Headquarters and your volunteer District Representative and District Advisor are ready to help you be successful this year. Your leadership training began with record attendance at the 2012 Leadership Academy: Mission Possible in April. More than 320 chapter leaders from 140 IIA North American chapters were present. Here’s what you said: “This was my first Leadership Conference and I am looking forward to coming back next year! I learned a lot about The IIA as an organization. I am definitely excited and re-energized to plan for the new year!” “Wow! The conference was amazing. I came back very excited about all of the possibilities for our chapter, just as expected.” “Had a fantastic time, met a great network of peers, and learned a lot to help me in my role this year. This was a truly positive and rewarding leadership experience.” What’s next? Over the summer, you’ll be invited to attend District Workshops for more in-depth discussions and planning for the chapter year. Additionally, IIA staff will make every attempt to visit each workshop to give an IIA Headquarters update. You’ll want to hear about the new initiatives we are undertaking to help you succeed, so we hope to see you there. Once the District Workshops are over, you will receive a schedule of Webinars by Chapter Leader Role – one more way for you to share ideas and connect with other chapter leaders. Throughout the year, continue to use LeadersLink and the IIA Leader Support Web Pages as your resource for information. And lastly, stay connected through social media!
Sincerely,
Sarah Albright
