FAQs FOR 2010 DUES INCREASE-Chapter Leaders

Purpose of Increase: The March 1, 2010 increase will enable The IIA to maintain and expand programs and services, and continue to offer you exclusive member privileges and valuable benefits designed to impact your success and advance the profession.

Whose idea was this? The ultimate decision to increase dues was made by the volunteer members of theNorth American Board.

When is this effective? The increase will go into effect March 1, 2010 for all new memberships and for all membership renewals expiring February 28, 2010 or later.

Why now, in this economy? The economy has greatly impacted every organization this past year and The IIA was no exception. We realize that there is no good time for an increase, but in order to continue to provide the valuable services our members have come to expect, it is necessary for us to increase the member investment. We realize many of our members have been affected by the downturn in the economy but we’re confident that you will continue to find that the value of the benefits you get from us is well worth the modest investment.

Is everyone being impacted? Yes. The increase applies to every membership category including our audit groups (refer to chart below for specific category changes):

The site features almost 300 articles, including Web-exclusive content from the magazine’s popular Fraud Findings, Ask the Experts, and Back to Basics departments, daily news updates, blogs from internal audit leaders, and industry-specific content.)
  • Offered a Members-Only Webinar with Sally Cutler on “Reporting to the Audit Committee: Issues and Approaches” with a free CPE given to participants
  • Responded to the downturn in the economy with the Bridge Membership Program for unemployed members who have lost their job
  • Upgraded our  Amenity Program for members with discounted pricing and preferential rates for members from GEICO, Omni Hotels, and Nationwide Bank
