The Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation was founded in 1976 by The Institute of Internal Auditors. For more than 30 years, the Foundation has consistently set the standard for professional achievement in the internal auditing profession. Our mission is to expand knowledge and understanding of internal auditing by providing relevant research and educational products to advance the profession globally.

The Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) is an ongoing global research program to broaden understanding of how internal audit is practiced.

The Global Audit Information Network (GAIN), including the Annual Bench-marking Study and Flash Surveys, is the profession's most trusted name for benchmarking.
