The Fuel. The IIA Research Foundation (IIARF) and the Internal Audit Academic Advancement Fund’s (IAAAF) are fueled solely by donor support, not IIA member dues. Surprised? Without donations, their good work stalls and progress comes to a halt.
As non-profit, donor-dependent entities every dollar donated builds upon the strength of prior work and blazes new trails to tackle emerging issues in the world of internal audit. Your donation moves us further down the road to empowering practitioners to add value to their organizations.
Looking back on the 35 years that has brought us to this point, we see the hard-earned knowledge gained by exploring issues that mattered to practitioners then, with an eye on what matters to practitioners today, and vision for what will matter tomorrow. Access to this collective view of the past, present, and future also enables The IAAAF to sharpen its focus for what type of knowledge practitioners entering the marketplace need to fulfill their roles.
Wondering what types of research your donation helps fuel? Each year The IIARF explores a number of topics, some that are entirely new and some that examine staples of the profession from a new angle. This year, The IIA Research Foundation (IIARF) developed 17 research and 15 educational products covering a variety of topics focused on the ever-evolving needs of internal auditors. Several research reports are available as a free downloads to members: The IIA’s Global Internal Audit Survey: A Component of the Common Body of Knowledge Study, Value-added Opportunities for Internal Auditors in Green IT and Sustainability, and Internal Auditing's Role in Risk Management. For 2012, The Foundation is focusing on key topics including: effective use of technology, ethical behavior auditing, fraud, internal audit communications, responding to significant risk events, and internal audit and strategic direction.
Wondering how your donation translates to enhanced education? In its mere five years of existence, the IAAAF has increased the number of higher education institutions that distinguish internal audit as its own program exponentially. The IAAAF currently supports Internal Auditing Education Partnership programs within 42 colleges and universities worldwide offering quality internal audit curricula to its students.
