
Nomination Process for Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners
The North American Board (NAB) of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has announced the creation of the Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners (Hall) to recognize key individuals in the field of internal auditing who have contributed significantly to the profession throughout their lifetime. Induction into the Hall is the highest honor given by the North American Board, recognizing that those selected set the standard for others to emulate.
Nominations for the inaugural class of inductees are being accepted through December 1, 2011. Download the nomination form.

In order to be eligible for selection into the Hall, a nominee must have:
- Served as a leader in the internal audit profession (audit professional, professor, instructor, or other service to the profession of internal auditing) for a minimum of ten years.
- Provided diligent service to their employing organization(s), as evidenced by the support afforded to them by their peers, supervisors, and staff.
- Advanced the profession through thought leadership, presenting on internal audit at conferences or seminars, or service to The Institute of Internal Auditors in a leadership role.
- Exemplified the finest values of those who practice internal audit through their highly ethical conduct, integrity, moral character, service and leadership.
- Been nominated by at least two members of The IIA or individuals who are actively engaged in the profession.
No more than five practitioners will be inducted into the Hall annually, although the initial classes may include additional inductees who have made historical contributions to the profession of internal auditing throughout the past seven decades.
