Judging
The winning candidate will be selected based on planning and creative strategy on various advocacy and promotion initiatives. Evidence of results and budgetary considerations also will be reviewed and considered. Although impressive four-color materials might contribute to the success of a campaign, they are not necessary for the IMAP Award. Instead, this award applauds initiatives and efforts to elevate the profession, creative promotion to target audiences, media relations activities, and one-to-one advocacy efforts. Carefully designing a plan, creatively carrying it out, and evaluating the results are all important elements of the IMAP Award.

The entries will be judged by a committee of The IIA's global headquarters staff from the Advocacy, Corporate Communications, Institute Relations, and Marketing departments. To ensure they equally can compare each entry' s value and consider those submitted with supporting materials in languages other than English, be sure to respond to each of the six questions listed on the entry form.

Rights
All materials submitted for the IMAP Award will become the property of The IIA, Inc. and may be displayed, duplicated, published, or disposed of as The IIA deems appropriate. No materials will be returned. By entering, the applicant agrees to hold The IIA and its employees exempt from any costs or expenses of any claim arising out of any such use by The IIA. Best practices for promoting the profession will be published and shared with other IIA chapters and institutes worldwide.

Deadline
To be eligible for the IMAP Award for a given year, all entries must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2009.
