Does Internal Audit Align with Management’s Expectations

Bob Rudloff, CIA
Vice President, Internal Audit, MGM Resorts International

Internal auditors can be doing a fine job yet not be aligned with what management and the audit committee expects from them.  If we as auditors dont deliver, management will have a need to look for alternatives.  In this session we will:

  • Discuss how internal audit managements views of its own performance and contributions often differ from executive managements and the audit committees views.
  • Consider how these expectation and performance gaps can be a source of concern for executive management as they may see internal auditing as missing the mark.
  • Learn possible ways to identify the gaps and develop realistic solutions to close these gaps quickly.
