Internal Audit Benchmarking Tool
The IIA is proud to announce its new Internal Audit Benchmarking Tool. The benchmarking data gathered through use of this tool will help audit leaders measure and compare their respective audit function’s performance, practices, and processes with those of peers and industry leaders. This tool replaces Audit Intelligence Suite.
The benchmarking tool collects data on roughly 20 key performance indicators based on industry, sector, function size, reporting lines, budget, qualifications, training, assurance, and advisory engagements. The KPIs were identified by the Global Benchmarking Catalyst Group, which comprises IIA leaders from different regions.
The success of the tool depends on your organization’s participation. The platform will provide rich data if we can gather responses from a diverse group of audit departments and achieve a sufficiently large sample size.
To prevent duplicates, please ensure that only one response is submitted per organization. The data provided will be collected anonymously. It should take about 20 minutes to complete the tool.
Please consult with your internal audit leadership team to ensure we receive only 1 submission per organization. At the end of the survey, respondents can share their email addresses separately if they wish to receive a report.
Communicating Findings
Respondents who provide their contact information after submitting data to the benchmarking platform will receive a high-level report showcasing the metrics of organizations of similar type and employee size. The report will be sent out as soon as enough data is gathered (i.e., sample sizes are large enough) to ensure representative sample sizes.
IIA Executive Members will also receive access to reports as part of their membership.
