Inspectors General Testify on IG Vacancies; IIA Responds
Several inspectors general from federal government agencies testified Feb. 1 at a U.S. House hearing on challenges facing IG offices, including staff and IG-level vacancies. With a number of long-vacant IG positions, including some extending years, The IIA continues to urge the President and Congress to fill these important posts with highly qualified individuals to ensure "the federal government is performing at the highest levels toward deterring fraud, waste, abuse, and inefficiencies." View the House hearing and read The IIA response letter submitted to U.S. Reps. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Elijah E. Cummings, ranking member on the committee.
