Audit Intelligence Suite FAQ

How long does it take to complete the benchmarking questionnaire?

The length of time it takes to complete the questionnaire varies for each organization based on the availability of the data and the preparation done prior to starting. Completing the study could take approximately 2 to 8 hours depending on the size of your organization and internal audit activity. For new users, once your initial data is submitted, subsequent future reports will be streamlined because you can request that your new questionnaire be pre-populated with the prior year’s answers as a guide.

Can I save my work as I go while completing the benchmarking questionnaire?

Yes, the system allows you to save your answers as you complete them at any point in the process.

How do you know if a selection meets statistical significance and what is statistical significance?

Each tier or filter you choose in your report has a built-in statistically significant threshold that must be met. As long as there is enough data provided by your organization and others participating in the questionnaire to create statistically relevant data, your report will be generated as requested. However, if there is not enough statistically relevant data, you may be prompted to select another tier. There is no due date for each year’s questionnaire; however, we recommend submitting your data as soon as you are able so it can be compiled quickly allowing the various tiers to run.

I received the error message, invalid token, when attempting to pay via credit card.

This can occur due to a few things that may have been entered wrong. Below is a listing of the most common issues.

  1. Address entry: If the address being used for your company in the AIS system is too long and not supported by the Authorize.net system when it is sent over to the payment database, it will cause the error to occur. Please manually enter you address information into the AIS Payment Selection screen and keep your addresses limited to your building number and street name. The City, State/Province and Postal Code should be in separate fields and not all in the Address field. The manually entered address will then be imported into the authorize.net system and prevent you from receiving this error.
  2. Special Characters in Organization Name: Authorize.net does not permit special characters in organizations names. An example of special characters are, but not limited to, &, *,(). These are normally corrected before the profile is accepted on newer accounts, but if your account is older then 1 year you may still have special characters due to it being created before Authorize.net was in use. If that is the case, please reach out to an AIS Admin at AIS@theiia.org to have this corrected.
  3. If none of the above: Please contact AIS@theiia.org so we can look at alternative ways to accept payment while we work on the issue with IT.

The benchmarking report type indicated in your email is not available.

This is typically due to a setting not being activated to allow this report type to show. Please reply to the email you received to have an AIS Admin correct the issue.

Are the Employee Compensation Section questions in the benchmarking questionnaire required?

Yes, except for the two salary related questions. All other questions are required to contain answers.

If I found an error in my benchmarking questionnaire after it has been submitted, how can I make the correction?

You can either click on the Request Assistance button found at the bottom left corner of the screen when in the questionnaire area, or email an AIS Admin at AIS@theiia.org to explain what the error(s) are. We can than unlock the survey if it is warranted to allow you to make your change(s).

How long is the benchmarking questionnaire open for?

A new benchmarking questionnaire debuts in March of each year, approximately. Each questionnaire covers organizational fiscal year ends (FYE) that occur between Dec. 31 and Nov. 30. For example

  • The 2017 questionnaire covers fiscal year-ends Dec. 31, 2016 through Nov. 30, 2017.
  • The 2018 questionnaire covers fiscal year-ends Dec. 31, 2017 through Nov. 30, 2018.

The function operates by the FYE of all participating organizations, but only looks at those FYEs which fall within an 18 month window of the order date. For example, if ordering a report today, only those participating organizations with an FYE 18 months prior would be included.

After I submit my benchmarking report order, how long does it take to receive it?

We have a standard one (1) business day turnaround. Orders received after 3pm EST will more than likely not be available till the next business day.

How do I pay for my benchmarking report order and what payment methods are accepted?

The Audit Intelligence Suite offers two payment types: credit card or wire transfers. We recommend using a credit card to receive your report(s) as quickly as possible. Wire transfers can take several days to process, delaying the delivery of your request. Reports are released when payment has been received, processed, and finalized.

Credit card payments go through Authorize.net, a third-party provider. You will receive your receipt via email once the payment is successfully processed. Please enter your information regarding your card exactly as it appears on your account with the card issuer. All credit card payments are processed through the Authorize.net payment gateway, which provides the complex infrastructure and security necessary to ensure fast, reliable, and secure transmission of transaction data.
