Today's chief audit executives (CAEs) must lead a comprehensive internal audit activity, and the Audit Executive Center can ensure their needs are met by enabling insightful, proactive, and future-focused outcomes. The Solutions below will help CAEs meet the growing expectations of their stakeholders by providing tools and resources focused on internal audit's unique and ever-demanding role.

Pulse of Internal Audit

The Audit Executive Center has gathered insight from leaders in the profession through the annual Pulse of Internal Audit Survey since 2011. Each survey collects information about both established and emerging issues that are important to the profession as well as information about internal audit management. Please visit our Pulse of Internal Audit page to learn more.

Pulse Solutions

The Pulse Solutions series comes in response to the needs identified in the North American Pulse of Internal Audit. Since 2016, the series offers solutions for Audit Executive Center members gleaned from interviews with leaders in and around the internal audit profession. The Pulse Solutions reports are posted on the Pulse of Internal Audit pages by year, begninning with 2016.

Employee Compensation Report

The IIA’s Employee Compensation Report is now integrated with the Audit Intelligence Suite. In addition to providing internal audit salary and pay practices, the added benchmarking component offers a more comprehensive look at your internal audit activity.  If you are a member of the Audit Executive Center and participate in the benchmarking questionnaire, the  Benchmarking Report is complimentary as a benefit of your membership. For additional information, click here.

Audit Intelligence Suite

The Audit Intelligence Suite was strategically designed with internal audit leaders and their audit activity in mind. The suite provides practitioners with tools to benchmark their audit activity and the ability to survey key stakeholders for real time feedback. Audit Executive Center members receive these benefits complimentary, with participation, based on their center membership level. The suite resources are also available for non-Center members to purchase. Visit our Audit Intelligence Suite page to learn more.

Peer Request

Short, customized Peer Request surveys initiated by CAEs provide peer feedback from those who have successfully conquered many of the challenges you and your organization may be facing. This network of insight and knowledge is available to Audit Executive Center members. For more information, visit our Peer Request page.

A Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal audit activity and identifies opportunities for improvement through evaluation of internal audit's conformance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards), the Definition of Internal Auditing, and the Code of Ethics. The two major components of a QAIP are an internal and external assessment. The Audit Executive Center and IIA Quality Services have partnered together to provide audit practitioners relevant resources regarding QAIP. Visit our Quality page to learn more.

CAE Facilitated Solutions

Sometimes internal audit leaders yearn for insight or objective feedback outside their organization about a particular topic or issue. The Audit Executive Center's CAE Facilitated Solutions are the resources for you.
