Learn about product stewardship recycler auditing, with a focus on cross-comparison between conventional EHS Auditing and the case of Oracle Corporation’s Recycler Audit Program for product take-back/Reverse Logistics. Discussion will focus on hardware and batteries, practical strategies, tools, successful approaches, insufficient vs. excessive data and verification, internal and external stakeholders, programmatic change, and existing and proposed regulatory applicability and conformance to industry standards (e.g., verifying conformance to the R2 Standard).

Paul Soler-Sala has more than 25 years of experience in the environmental field in both the United States and overseas, as a consultant, auditor, chemist and international project manager and volunteer. His areas of expertise include EHS auditing and program management, EHS audit protocols and regulatory research, EHS training, product environmental compliance, and environmental assessments. He is a BEAC Certified Professional Environmental Auditor and a US-OSHA authorized general industry trainer. Paul has managed and conducted hundreds of EHS audits and site assessments, including third-party recycler audits, both in the U.S. and abroad. He is fluent in Spanish and Russian.

Corey AlbaughCorey Albaugh, CIH, CSP
Corporate EHS Program Manager, Oracle

Before joining Oracle, after receiving his master's degree as a Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Hygiene Graduate Fellow from The University of Michigan, Corey entered the workforce as a DOE industrial hygienist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, evaluating retrospective beryllium exposures. After completion of his time at Los Alamos, Corey was employed with Intel Corporation for seven years as a Senior Environmental Health Engineer in both Arizona and Colorado, leading Intel's worldwide efforts for categorizing and reducing environmental health hazards of process tools. Before joining Oracle, Corey was part of the Environmental, Health and Safety team at Samsung where he worked as an engineer.
