About the Center

Welcome to the Public Sector Audit Center (formerly the American Center for Government Auditing), the premier resource f​or auditors in the public sector.

Public sector auditors include anyone fulfilling an audit capacity and working in local, state, or federal government, or any publicly-controlled or publicly-funded agencies, enterprises, and other entities that deliver public programs, goods, or services.  

Currently, the Center ​has more than 11,000 members who enjoy benefits including local, regional, and national professional networking; world-class training; certification; standards and guidance; research; and more.


The mission of the Center ​is to advance the professional practice of auditing in the public sector by advocating its value through timely and relevant thought leadership, communication, collaboration, and education.
