​Despite the universal consensus that an effective business continuity plan is a critical part of any organization’s overarching strategy, there appears to be a disturbing trend of misalignment between chief audit executives (CAEs), executive management, and board members. The purpose of this knowledge brief is to determine possible causes for this misalignment and highlight some strategies that might mitigate this issue and ensure business continuity plans perform optimally regardless of the crisis at hand.
