IIA Canada Webinar - Internal Audit’s role in supporting Departmental Commitments to Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (AREDI)

Format: Live Stream

IRCC facilitates the arrival of immigrants, provides protection to refugees, and offers programming to help newcomers settle in Canada. Working closely with such a diverse population, it is of the utmost importance for the Department to have in place an Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy to clearly demonstrate how it will eradicate systemic racism and racial discrimination. To feed into this strategy, IRCC's Internal Audit and Accountability Branch has developed a strategy to support the department’s efforts in addition to developing its own commitments.

The webinar will present how IAAB at IRCC is positioning itself to not only be able to provide assurance and advice to senior management on how the department can strengthen its governance, risk management and controls related to AREDI within the department’s programs and services, but also how the internal audit organization can examine itself and develop strategies to improve its own AREDI self-awareness, competencies and practices.

The knowledge gained from this webinar will provide insights on how audit shops can not only support their departments by identifying risks related to AREDI, but also on how audit shops can assess themselves to identify gaps and derive potential solutions.
