Building Awareness Champions
We are pleased to be a 2023 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.

The Chapter is providing scholarships to students in the San Gabriel Valley to encourage interest in the internal audit profession.
The Chapter participated in the 2021 Building Awareness Champion program. As a result of our Chapter's hard work and dedication to the profession, we received a letter of congratulations from IIA President and CEO Anthony J. Pugliese, as well as a digital ribbon further recognizing our accomplishments.

Greetings and welcome to the 2021-2022 Chapter year. We have all heard the challenges of COVID-19 and our chapter was no exception to the many changes it experienced. I am pleased to announce that I will continue to lead our chapter by serving my 2nd term as President, together with committed and agile volunteers. We celebrated 36 years of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter in March and the chapter is stronger than ever. Thanks to the many volunteers and members who believe in the audit profession and those who supported our chapter. The chapter achieved 17 consecutive Gold awards since 2004, 7 of the latter years the chapter achieved Platinum status. Thank you to the Governors and Officers, volunteers and members who made this achievement possible. Special recognition goes to the dedicated volunteers who skillfully presented 8 online webinars from October 2020 to May 2021. This year my theme is Evolve and Volunteer. The future of the profession is in all our hands. It is multi-generational, multi-cultural and more diverse than ever with new technology and new audit risks to consider. My vision is to inspire others to lead our Chapter and the Internal Audit profession to evolve and anticipate the needs of the future.
Together let us take what we learned last year and the many opportunities it offers to bring flexible and relevant learning and training opportunities for 2022! What we need from you is “you” - to volunteer your skills, talent and backgrounds -to continue our success. Help is needed in a wide variety of areas that require as little as 2 hours per month, or serving as a committee chair for 8 hours per month. Volunteering is an excellent career growth experience and provides many networking opportunities to anyone interested in getting involved. Reach out to our friendly governors or any officers. The IIA Past President Bill Bishop in the 2004 newsletter about the San Gabriel Valley Chapter said, “To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Get Involved! Together we can achieve!

Thanks to everyone’s efforts and contributions, our Chapter has proudly achieved 19 years of Gold status and Platinum status for eight consecutive years.
