The Institute of Internal Auditors to Hold Global Student Conference April 28 - 30

LAKE MARY, Fla. (March 25, 2024) – The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) – the internal audit profession's leader in standards, certifications, education, research, and technical guidance worldwide – will host its Global Student Conference (GSC) in Orlando, Florida between April 28 – 30. The IIA’s GSC brings together college students, educators, and employers from around the world for networking and recruitment opportunities designed to cultivate the next generation of internal audit leaders.

In addition to audit educators and professionals, GSC is open to students who are enrolled in a college, university, co-op program, or community college and who have either taken an internal auditing class, completed an internal audit internship or practical work experience, or are interested in learning more about the internal audit profession. The goal of the conference is to drive deeper engagement within the profession and to provide prospective internal audit professionals with the essential skills and resources needed to build a successful career.

GSC will explore emerging trends and risks within the internal audit profession through the lens of guiding and nurturing the industry’s future trailblazers. It will feature several keynote and panel sessions spanning a wide range of topics including:

  • An update on the state of the internal audit profession and a leadership Q + A session with IIA President and CEO Anthony J. Pugliese, CIA, CPA, CGMA, CITP.
  • The impact of AI on the audit profession and how to integrate emerging technology into internal audit curriculum.
  • Strategies for improving negotiation skills and other important ‘soft skills’ within the internal audit profession.

Beyond the engaging sessions, the conference will also provide opportunities for attendees to network, recruit, and actively prepare for a career in internal auditing. This includes:

  • An interactive case study competition for students with prizes.
  • Resume building resources and review services.
  • A professional headshot booth.
  • Networking with internal audit leaders, students, and educators from around the world.
