Nicole Narkiewicz, Ph.D.
Director, Academic and Research Strategy

Nicole Narkiewicz is the Director of Academic and Research Strategy at The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA). Joining in 2023, she leads the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to advance the academic and research missions of The IIA and the Internal Audit Foundation. Before joining The IIA, Nicole evaluated federally funded programs, taught economic theory, and worked in model risk management in the financial services sector. Nicole holds a Ph.D. in Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis, as well as an M.S. in Economics.


Arlene Vieira, M.A.Director, Member Experience

Arlene Vieira joined the IIA in 2024 as the Director of Member Experience, leading the member value, chapter engagement, and customer relations teams. A key focus of these teams is delivering a consistently exceptional experience to all members and implementing a comprehensive member experience strategy that aligns with the IIA’s global goals. Before joining the IIA, Arlene worked in the nonprofit sector for over a decade, primarily focusing on strategic mission delivery. Arlene holds a M.A. in Nonprofit Management and a B.A. in Communication.
