Mat Young

Mat Young is the Executive Vice President of Global Advocacy, Policy, and Stakeholder Relations at The IIA.
With more than 20 years of public policy experience, Mat has worked for a U.S. Senator, a U.S. House Committee, a federal regulatory agency, and several professional associations. His policy contributions have shaped a number of U.S. federal and state laws, including the banning of tax strategy patents and advancing the interstate right to cross-border practice for CPAs.
At The IIA, Mat leads the Advocacy team’s four programs - Global Advocacy, Canada, the U.S., and Corporate Governance Engagement - and oversees the Office of the General Counsel, as well as the organization’s risk and privacy compliance programs.
Mat holds a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and urban studies from Trinity University. In addition to English, he has professional proficiency in French.
