The Institute of Internal Auditors Appoints Victor Velazquez as Executive Vice President of Global Strategy, Membership, and Brand

Velazquez to drive strategy, member engagement, and brand growth worldwide

LAKE MARY, Fla. (August 26, 2025) – The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) today announced that Victor Velazquez will join the organization as its new Executive Vice President of Global Strategy, Membership, and Brand, effective September 2.

Velazquez brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across mission-driven associations and Fortune 150 companies. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered measurable results in member engagement, brand expansion, digital innovation, and enterprise-wide transformation.

In his new role at The IIA, Velazquez will oversee global strategy, membership, marketing, and communications. He will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the Board of Directors, and stakeholders around the world to advance The IIA’s mission, strengthen its global brand, and deepen member engagement across all regions.

Most recently, Velazquez served as Senior Vice President of Digital Transformation, Product, and Experience at UNFI, where he oversaw a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of eCommerce platforms. He led strategy development and managed a global delivery team executing a digital roadmap to reimagine customer experience, drive topline growth, and improve margins.

In addition, Velazquez has served as an advisor to multiple organizations, including The IIA, with a focus on accelerating growth, sharpening competitive positioning, and building scalable operating models.
