Advocacy starts at the chapter level
Effective advocacy begins with local engagement. The Chapter Grassroots Program translates national advocacy priorities into coordinated local action – driven by engaged leaders and members.
The Advocacy Supporter Key
To recognize the essential role of chapters, all U.S. chapters received the Advocacy Supporter Key in 2026.
To maintain this recognition in 2027, chapters must:
- Appoint a Chapter Advocacy Liaison
- Request a Congressional Key Person Program meeting
- Achieve the IIA PAC fundraising goal
- Partner with IIA Advocacy on written outreach to policymakers

Chapters that go above and beyond can earn additional distinction:
Fundraising Champion
Exceed 150% of chapter PAC fundraising goal
Participation Champion
Achieve 7% of chapter member participation in IIA PAC
