Stefano Comotti

Stefano Comotti is the 2026-27 Past Chair of the IIA’s Global Board of Directors. He previously served as the Board’s 2025-26 Chair, the 2024-25 Global Senior Vice Chair, and the 2023-24 Outside North America (ONA) Lead Director. He also served on the Board of IIA Italy from 2014-21.

Stefano is an expert in the luxury goods industry, where he has led audit and risk teams overseeing all aspects of operations across brands and their boutiques. With more than three decades of international experience, he offers deep expertise in audit, internal control, risk management, corporate governance, transaction support, and finance. His career has been marked by the development of innovative risk management frameworks, the transformation of audit functions, and the advancement of internal control self-assessment practices. He has also played a key role in establishing standards and reporting processes for conducting impactful social and environmental audits across global supply chains. Serving on ethics, cybersecurity, fraud, and project-related steering committees further enhanced his expertise in specialized subject areas and broadened his strategic perspective.

Stefano began his career with Ernst & Young, where he worked as a financial auditor for publicly listed companies in both Italy and the U.S., and later as a consultant in Transaction Support. He then moved into the telecommunications sector, joining Vodafone as Internal Audit Director for its Spanish subsidiary.

His career in the luxury goods industry began in Florence, Italy, where he served as Internal Audit Director for a publicly listed group overseeing multiple brands.

Stefano is a Statutory Auditor (Revisore Legale, Italy), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA). He is fluent in Italian, French, English, and Spanish. Stefano earned an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Spain and holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Università degli Studi di Bergamo in Bergamo, Italy.
