Matt Pearman was appointed Chief Auditor for Global COO at Barclays in 2026 and is based in New York. He joined Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) in April 2014 and has held senior roles across Technology, Cyber, Credit Cards, Investment Banking, and Research. He served as Chief Auditor for the Americas from 2022 to 2026.
Matt is a senior audit executive with over 20 years of audit experience and more than five years in consulting and technology. He brings deep expertise in risk and control, combining industry knowledge, emerging risk insight, and clear, effective communication. His leadership spans strategy, audit planning, and coverage across technology, operations, compliance, finance, and risk in both Investment and Consumer Banking.
He has led assurance for major global transformation programs and built strong relationships with executive management. Prior to Barclays, Matt held senior audit and advisory roles at Citi, Lloyds Bank, KPMG, and PwC, including serving as Head of Audit for Group IT at Lloyds Bank.
Matt holds an MBA from Lancaster University and is a Chartered Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
