Ohio Society of CPA’s (OSCPA) Ethics & Impact of the New Standards on Quality Assessments
The Northeast Ohio IIA is happy to announce that we are hosting, in conjunction with the Northwest Ohio IIA chapter, a joint event featuring an ethics session presented by the Ohio Society of CPAs that will fulfill the 3-credit Professional Standards & Responsibilities (PSR) requirement for CPAs in Ohio!

NEO IIA is partnering with KPMG and local Chief Audit Executives (CAEs) to bring you our 7th Annual CAE Roundtable during Internal Audit Awareness Month on May 15th! This year the event will once again be held in conjunction with the two-day Meonske Professional Development Conference on the campus of Kent State University in Kent, OH. NEO IIA and other local professional organizations have been invited to participate in the conference and make it one of the largest CPE events in Northeast Ohio in 2025!

The Northeast Ohio IIA Chapter was established in 1961 and exists as a service to our local and visiting IIA members.
Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally, members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.

Dear Members and Friends,
Thank you to everyone over the past year for giving me the opportunity to be your NEO IIA President. It has been an honor and privileged to work with such great people within the Officer and Board of Governors group of the chapter.
Recent Meeting Recap:
Thank you to everyone who joined us in March for an ethics training hosted by the Ohio Society of CPAs, where we learned the value of accountants when identifying fraud and unethical behavior within companies.A big thank you goes out to the local FEI group in co-sponsoring the Cleveland Cavs event in April. We heard amazing topics ranging from an update on tariffs, local financial crimes cases, and the Disaggregation of Income Statement Expenses (D.I.S.E) requirements. To top off a great event, the Cavs pulled out a win over the Atlanta Hawks!
Upcoming Events:
Next up we are collaborating with Kent State University to offer training sessions during the annual Meonske Conference. This is a two (2) day event held on the campus of Kent State University in Kent, OH. The internal Audit track will take place on Thursday, May 14th.Have a new auditor working at your company who would like to receive audit 101 training? On June 12th, we will be offering our New Auditor Training at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District offices. Watch your e-mail boxes for further information in the next week or two.
Additionally, our annual member appreciation golf outing will be held on Thursday, June 25th at Stonewater Golf Club in Highland Heights, OH. Watch for registration details to follow in the next week. If you would like to be a sponsor for the event, please refer to our sponsorship website.
Finally, mark your calendars in September for our monthly general meeting held in conjunction with a Cleveland Guardians game vs the Toronto Blue Jays. The Cleveland Deloitte office will be providing updates on various topics within the industry. This event will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, starting at 8:00am. More information and registration to come later in the summer.
