Chapter Officers

Chapter Beginnings

It’s hard to imagine, but it has been 70 years since the Oklahoma City Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc. was established. On September 1, 1949 an initial group of 18 internal audit professionals founded the local chapter, passed the by-laws and elected the original officers and one governor. They also determined that chapter meetings would be held on the first Thursday evening of each month.

During the last 70 years, we’ve grown to an all-time high of 355 members, representing 102 organizations. We provide a wide range of opportunities for professional development and communication, such as Chapter sponsored lunch meetings and seminars, monthly newsletters, and a directory of Chapter members and events. We are committed to adding value to our members, member organizations, Chief Audit Executives (CAEs) and profession. As such, we are currently attempting to expand the scope of our outreach and communication efforts (e.g., website development, CAE Roundtables, etc.). Please bear with us during these ongoing efforts.​

Our principal mission is to:

1. Provide continuing professional education (CPE) activities and standards for the practice of internal auditing and
2. Research, disseminate and promote knowledge and information concerning internal auditing, including internal control and related subjects.

The Chapter supports this mission by:
Offering 9 monthly one-hour CPE luncheon each month (September through May).
Offering 2 seminars​ (Fall and Spring ) worth 16 to 24 CPE hours each.

Dear Members, Partners, and Friends,

As we move into the fall season, I want to take a moment to reflect on the momentum we've built together and share my appreciation for your continued engagement with the IIA Oklahoma City Chapter.

Serving as President for the 2026–2027 year continues to be both an honor and a privilege. Over the past several months, I have been inspired by the dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm of our members. Together, we are strengthening our internal audit community through learning, collaboration, and service.

As we look ahead to the remainder of the year, our focus remains on three key priorities:

Professional Growth – Providing meaningful educational opportunities, CPE events, certifications support, and thought leadership to help members navigate today's evolving risk landscape.
Community & Connection – Expanding opportunities for networking, mentorship, and member engagement while fostering an inclusive chapter experience for all.
Value & Impact – Promoting the strategic value of internal audit and strengthening our profession's presence across organizations and throughout the Oklahoma City community.

Please join me in thanking these dedicated volunteers for their commitment to serving our chapter. Their leadership and support play a vital role in delivering valuable programs and opportunities for our members.

As the profession continues to evolve, our chapter remains committed to providing relevant resources, quality programming, and meaningful connections that help you succeed. I encourage each of you to stay involved by attending events, earning CPE, participating in chapter activities, and sharing your knowledge and expertise with fellow members.

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to our Board members, committee volunteers, speakers, and partners. Your time, talent, and dedication are the foundation of our chapter's success.
