Building Awareness Champions
We are pleased to be a 2023 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.

Scholarships and awards are granted to local college students as part of Student Night and Chapter members working towards their Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
The annual University of Tennessee Student Night partnering with the Beta Alpha Psi Chapter is held at the Haslam College of Business. The East Tennessee IIA Chapter raffles student scholarships and/or memberships during the event and presents on members' audit journey.

A message from Heather Boring, IIA Chapter President 2024-2025
Dear Chapter Members and Internal Audit Practitioners,
Welcome to a new year with the IIA! I want to start by thanking you all for your support of the profession and our local chapter. Last year we made great strides in getting back to our in-person meetings and networking. It was great to see so many of you again and to catch up and compare notes. We paired up with other local IIA chapters, as well as with the ACFE, on several events. This year, we plan to again offer you great CPE value for your membership as well as useful content and networking opportunities.
We are looking forward to a great mix of speakers and events, both in-person and virtually. Please help us make sure you are receiving our emails and newsletters. If you’re not hearing from us at least monthly, then let us know. And if you aren’t already following the East TN chapter on LinkedIn, please consider doing so. If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to share some information, please write to the chapter officers at chapter85support@iiachaptercommunications.org. And finally, please consider volunteering with the chapter in some capacity. There are numerous opportunities that vary in time commitment and resources. It is the involvement and feedback from you, our members, that helps make our chapter successful. I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events and thank you again for your support!
