Educators' Curriculum Crosswalk: Mapping the Global Model Internal Audit Curriculum to IPPF Resources
This licensed selection of IIA-developed academic resources is available at no cost to (i) individual users for personal use and (ii) to support academic use and engagement.
This workbook helps educators map The IIA's Global Model Internal Audit Curriculum courses to authoritative IIA resources, including the Global Internal Audit Standards, Topical Requirements, and Global Guidance of the International Internal Audit Framework (IPPF) as well as The IIA’s Audit Tools. The matrix is a handy educator resource for aligning core internal auditing topics with IIA publications and will be updated twice a year to incorporate new content, including Statements of Position (formerly Position Papers).
Course designers, professors, and instructors can use this index of teaching resources to:
- Design the syllabi and lesson plans of an internal auditing curriculum.
- Align the curriculum and coursework with The IIA's authoritative references, supporting student progression from core courses to supplemental and advanced studies, including experiential learning.
- Select and assign readings and tools to support assignments and case studies.
- Ensure coursework and classroom instruction support the development of internal audit competencies.
- Keep student instruction up-to-date with The IIA's latest authoritative publications through biannual updates.
- Prepare students for the Internal Audit Practitioner exam, careers in internal auditing, and eventually the Certified Internal Auditor exam (graduate and postgraduate levels).
Please note: While the Global Internal Audit Standards are publicly available, Global Guidance and The IIA’s Audit Tools are member-exclusive resources.
