Covering Fraud Risk in the Annual Plan and Audits

Format: Online

Discuss the coverage of fraud in the annual planning and engagement planning processes given fraud is a pervasive risk that threatens all organizations’ achievement of its objectives. Not only can fraud cost an organization significant money, but it can also cause reputation damage, legal impacts, loss of customers and/or vendors, and employee morale issues that impact retention and recruitment. In some cases, fraud can lead to the collapse of the organization.

In this session, participating IA leaders will:

  • Explore ways to develop and enhance fraud risk knowledge and skills of internal auditors.
  • Share strategies for assessing fraud risks, including fraud risk in the IAF’s audit universe, audit plan and engagement scopes.
  • Share how technology can be used to assist in identifying potential fraud schemes during engagements or ongoing monitoring.
  • Discuss potential advisory engagement opportunities relating to fraud risk management.
  • Learn of fraud risk events experienced by peers, the impact to their organization and what control failed to prevent fraud risk occurrence.

This Roundtable is an exclusive benefit only available to Audit Leaders Network Members. Audit Leaders Network provides access to essential relationships, professional development, and tailored resources for today’s leaders.
