Navigating Third and Fourth Party Risks

Discuss potential risks from third parties such as cybersecurity, financial stability, business continuity, reputational damage, safety, regulatory/legal compliance, disclosure of personal and/or confidential information, and other risks. This discussion will also include fourth-party risk management, which is the risk posed by vendors, partners, suppliers, etc., of an organization’s third-party vendors.

In this session, participating IA leaders will:

  • Discuss options between providing audit or advisory services relating to third-party risk management and the advantages and disadvantages of the two different forms of service.
  • Share strategies for leveraging risk assessment, monitoring and evaluation efforts performed by 1st and 2nd line functions relating to third party activities.
  • Leverage lessons learned and/or success stories from peers who have performed audits or advisory services relating to third party risk management.
  • Learn of third-party risks experienced by peers, the impact to their organization and what control failed to prevent the risk occurrence.
