You Can Do This: A Practical Roadmap for Turning ERM into Strategic Value

Format: Online

This broadcast is part of The IIA Bookroom: Author Webinar Series, where we bring you webinars that feature authors and their books found within The IIA Bookstore. This webinar is based on the book You Can Do This - Enterprise Risk Management Made Simple - A Practical Guide to Quickly Turn Risk Management Blind Spots into Organizational Opportunity by Elena Yearly.

Enterprise Risk Management initiatives often fail for a simple reason: organizations attempt to implement too much, too quickly, without a clear vision of what success looks like. Many leaders know ERM is important, yet struggle to determine where to start, how to gain buy-in, and how to build a program that becomes embedded within decision-making rather than viewing ERM as purely a compliance or check the box effort.

This session provides a practical roadmap for how to tailor, address and implement an ERM process in a way that aligns best with organizational strategy, culture, and available resources. Participants will explore how to define the purpose of ERM, establish a compelling value proposition, create organizational alignment, and pace efforts to achieve meaningful progress over time.

Designed for internal audit leaders, risk professionals, executives, and governance stakeholders, this session focuses on the leadership decisions that drive successful ERM implementation. It also covers the unique role that internal auditors play as an assurance provider and not as the creator and owner of the ERM process.

Participants will leave with an ERM roadmap so they can adapt to their organizations regardless of industry, size, or current ERM maturity.
