Committees Description

Education Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Elie Safar
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Education Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Providing adequate education and training programs that are needed for the continuing professional development of IIA Lebanon members.
Ensuring content consistency of the educational and training courses delivered in line with the aims and objectives of IIA Lebanon.
Ensuring that educational and training programs meet the diverse interests of IIA Lebanon members.
Setting the strategic direction and the objectives of all education programs sponsored by IIA Lebanon.
Undertaking appropriate measures to facilitate the execution and implementation of the education programs.

Membership Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Ali Makki
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Membership Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Ensuring proper implementation of the plan set by the Board for attracting, engaging and retaining members.
Managing the relationships between members.
Maintaining effective communication channels with other committees.

Governance Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Elie Abimrad
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Governance Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Ensuring the establishment of a proper governance framework in accordance with the Institute purpose and objectives, as well as the IIA global protocols and guidelines.
Ensuring compliance of the governors and members with the Institute's corporate culture, values, code of corporate governance, code of ethics, and rules of conduct.
Assisting in setting nomination criteria for the governors and Committees' volunteered members to ensure that the most appropriate candidates are selected.
Evaluating the performance of the Board of Governors and its Committees.

Public Relations (PR) Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Rana Nassif
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Public Relations (PR) Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Ensuring that all members have access to timely and accurate information through the Institute's official website, social media platforms and other communication channels.
Building awareness of the value of internal auditing and keeping members up to date with the current developments of the internal audit profession.
Promoting the profession in local universities, public sector's institutions, private companies, etc.
Expanding the reach of IIA Lebanon to neighboring countries, particularly where IIA is not formally represented.

Francophonie Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Fadi Abou Abdallah
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Francophonie Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Maintaining liaison with the Union Francophone de l’Audit Interne (UFAI).
Encouraging IIA Lebanon members’ involvement and participation in the Institut Français de l’Audit et du Contrôle Interne (IFACI) workplace to strengthen ties with other members affiliated to this community.
Facilitating the communication between UFAI adherents and IIA Lebanon members.
Overseeing the planning and implementation of initiatives that will help IIA Lebanon fulfill its mission and commitment to promote and develop interaction with UFAI.

Translation Committee

Chairperson of the Committee: Naji Fayad
Role & Purpose: The main purpose of the Francophonie Committee is to assist the Board in its oversight and monitoring responsibilities by:

Facilitating linguistic and cultural communication and understanding between IIA Global and the members of IIA Lebanon.
Providing translation services related to the internal audit profession.
Helping IIA Lebanon overcome the language barriers faced by its members in order to promote effective communication and engagement within its community.
