The Greater Boston Chapter of the IIA has existed for over 70 years and serves over 1,700 members spread across the Commonwealth. Our primary mission is to provide our membership with high quality, low cost educational content and networking opportunities through seminars and social events. Welcome to the IIA Greater Boston Chapter
Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally, members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is a global professional organization whose purpose is to promote the practice of internal auditing. This is accomplished through training and development programs, certification programs, and ongoing development of internal auditing standards and professional practice guidance literature. The local chapter of the IIA is the Boston Chapter.
The Chapter’s Board of Governors has created a Scholarship Award. This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student who is an accounting, management, finance, or internal audit major that attends a college or university located in the Boston Area and exemplifies the character and leadership qualities promoted by the IIA.

On behalf of the Greater Boston Chapter Board, welcome to the 2021 – 2022 Chapter year! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and were able to enjoy some well-deserved time off. It’s hard to believe we’re kicking off another year. As Co-President of the Chapter for the coming year, I could not be more excited for what we have planned. Our Programs team has a stacked pipeline, from sessions on ESG (registration info below!) and cybersecurity to our long-awaited (and pandemic-delayed) 75th anniversary event! We have learned a lot about how to offer the best virtual programming and social events – and we’ll continue to apply those lessons as we navigate an increasingly “hybrid” environment.
In addition to the above - this year, you can also look forward to:
- Industry-specific events led by our sector chairs
- Leadership events in conjunction with IIA HQ
- The second year of our successful CIA study group
- Multiple opportunities to achieve your 2 ethics CPE requirement
…. And more, of course!
Throughout the last year, we have all continued to face challenges, and I am proud of our profession’s resiliency and ability to adapt. I am excited to continue to be part of our efforts to advance the mission of the IIA. We could not do it without our dedicated Board members and volunteers.
