Event will be hosted on Zoom
The Vancouver Chapter of the IIA was formed in the Spring of 1948, and a Charter was issued to the Chapter on September 23, 1948. We currently have over 500 members, and our purpose is to support the development of IA professionals in British Columbia.
We are an affiliate of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), an international professional association with global headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Fla., USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.
We are pleased to be a 2023 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.
We would like to thank our partner sponsors for their continuing support in the IIA Vancouver Chapter’s activities. All proceeds from sponsorships are used to fund the Chapter’s professional education and outreach programs. The Vancouver Chapter operates on a not-for-profit basis with any surplus funds reinvested into areas that benefit our members. Listed below are our sponsors for FY2022-2023
The IIA Vancouver Chapter strongly supports the education of the next generation of internal audit and promotes interest in the internal audit profession. In 2021, we established the J. Bordian Student Scholarship to recognize James Bordian for his 51 years of membership with The IIA, and for his contributions to The IIA Vancouver Chapter, including Chapter President in 1973.
The IIA Vancouver Chapter will award the successful post-secondary student(s) a scholarship amount (tbd) and an IIA student membership for one year.
The Academic Relations Chair will provide students with details such as eligibility requirements, application process, and other information annually.
I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for staying connected and continuing to support the IIA Vancouver Chapter.
I’m truly honored and grateful to represent the Chapter as President for the next year. I’d like to thank all of you for your support in allowing me to lead this amazing team of volunteers. The past year has been a tremendous year of growth for the Chapter, and we are excited to see what we can achieve together over the coming year!
As previously mentioned by our past Presidents, the success of our Chapter depends on our members. Please reach out if you’d like to get involved with the Chapter or have any questions or feedback.
Let’s stay connected and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Chapter events.
Alan Cosgrave, CFSA
