Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally, members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

The IIA – Milwaukee Chapter was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1947. The Milwaukee Chapter provides valuable continuing education training and networking opportunities for its roughly 500 members.
Mission
The Milwaukee Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors is a professional association of internal auditors involved in promoting professional growth and progress for the practice of internal auditing.
Objectives
Advocate and promote the value internal audit professionals provide to their organization.
Provide comprehensive professional education and leadership development opportunities.
Disseminate and promote knowledge concerning internal auditing and its appropriate role in control.
