Sundaresan Rajeswar, a senior Auditor from Qatar, is the recipient of the global recognition 'Internal Audit Beacon Awards 2022.'

Professions thrive through advocacy and diversity of thought. The internal audit profession is no different. For the past three years, Richard Chambers, former President and CEO of the Institute of Internal Auditors, have recognized men and women making an impact on behalf of internal audit around the world.

Sundaresan Rajeswar, a senior Internal Audit professional who is Group Internal Auditor of Teyseer Group, is among 12 recipients globally in the 4th Annual Internal Audit Beacon Awards 2022.

Richard Chambers announced the 4th annual recognition Internal Audit Beacon award for 2022 for recognizing the internal audit thought leaders around the world who make a difference in the profession. "At the end of the year, I recognized 12 thought leaders as A Dozen Who Made a Difference," Chambers stated.

This award acknowledges global internal thought leaders who have contributed significantly to advancing the internal audit profession worldwide in 2022. Richard Chambers mentioned, "As one of the founders of IIA Qatar, Rajeswar is a widely respected advocate for internal audit in one of the profession's fastest-growing regions in the world. In 2022, he was a frequent and recognized voice for the internal auditing profession. His article on the top business risks for 2022 served as an early call to action for the region's rapidly growing profession. Whether writing articles for newspapers, being cited as an internal audit expert in the region, or hosting webinars for IIA Qatar, Rajeswar exemplifies the spirit of an internal audit beacon."

Rajeswar is one of the founders, Past President and is currently the Director on the board and Contact Person of the Qatar Chapter of the IIA. The IIA Qatar chapter bestowed him the honor of 'Chief Advisor' for his immense contribution to the chapter since its inception over 15 years.

Rajeswar is intimately involved in fulfilling the IIA Qatar chapter's mission to strengthen the practice of internal audit, governance, and transparency. Rajeswar as Qatar chapter representative, was part of the Arab Internal Auditors forum for coordinating activities such as resource sharing, Arabic translation, etc.,

Fahad al-Marri, Senior Vice President of IIA Qatar, stated, "Rajeswar enhances the outreach of IIA Qatar and the internal audit profession as an expert, influencer, and highly networked professional. He plays an active leadership role in many professional forums, Toastmasters- Region 11 Advisor for the Middle East, Community organizations, Guest speaker, etc."

"The onslaught of the pandemic was turned into an opportunity to introduce webinars by inviting top internal auditors across the globe. This outstanding effort continued the momentum and fulfilled the knowledge requirements of the members from totally new sources with global reach. These 31 sessions conducted since June 2020 were planned, resourced, and moderated by Rajeswar. The growth in the chapter over the past three years is a direct benefit of these events," Fahad added. 

"It is a great honor to be one of the Internal Audit beacon award recipients. To be part of this list with such tall names is humbling. It is also an excellent time to dedicate further advocacy for the profession," Rajeswar said.
