ESG disclosure guidance continues to emerge from various organizations. The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) finalized two new standards in June 2023, IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures. According to the ISSB, IFRS S1 and S2 are the first two IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards the board has developed and serve as a comprehensive global baseline of sustainability disclosures for the capital markets.
