IIA Reiterates Support for Ukraine, Condemns Russia's Invasion
Communications Anthony Pugliese, CIA, CGMA, CITP, CPA Mar 22, 2022
The IIA strongly condemns Russia’s unlawful and unjustified invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine and the devastating humanitarian crisis that has ensued. We have heard from our members and affiliates around the world in near-unanimous support of Ukraine as its citizens fight for their freedom – and their lives.
In response to Russia’s brutal attack on the Ukrainian people, IIA Global has suspended all business, activities, and initiatives within Russia indefinitely. This includes the immediate suspension of all CIA and CRMA exam services. Meanwhile, The IIA has waived all membership and 2022 CPE fees in Ukraine. We also have contributed to the Red Cross in support of its efforts to provide aid to the besieged Ukrainian people.
The internal audit profession is trusted and respected worldwide for providing the highest standards of service and ethical practice. As the voice of the profession, The IIA stands united with other professions across the globe in condemning Russia’s brutal and devastating war on Ukraine and its reckless and dangerous political, economic and human welfare implications. We will continue to monitor this tragedy and take actions consistent with The IIA’s values, with the hope that the international rule of law, human rights - and peace - will prevail. #oneiia
